COVID-19 hygiene training sets course for hospitality recovery
The WA Government announced on Wednesday, 29 April 2020 that WA's hospitality industry is being prepared for a return to business with the launch of a mandatory COVID-19 hygiene training program to protect the public and venue staff.

City to Launch Community Plan to Tackle COVID-19 Crisis
City of Kalamunda Councillors and staff have been working tirelessly to understand and prepare for the local financial and social impacts as the COVID-19 crisis unfolds.

City of Kalamunda closes facilities to help flatten the Curve
The City of Kalamunda has closed its public facilities due to COVID-19 from 12pm, Monday 23rd March, citing the need to all act now and help flatten the curve in the wake of the pandemic. Mayor Margaret Thomas today announced the closure of all City recreation centres, libraries, cultural centres, including the Zig Zag Cultural Centre and History Village, Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre and the Kalamunda Water Park.

City Facilities Closures
The closure of the City’s facilities is due to yesterday’s Federal announcement and the new WA Government stage one restrictions on social gatherings. This means the City of Kalamunda will be closing a number of facilities to the public from Monday, 23 March 2020 12noon until further notice.

The impact on road users remains limited and is being minimised by the contractor (Georgiou Group) as far as possible. In the coming weeks, the community may notice some new activities close to residential areas. These include the continuing essential service relocation(s).

Funerals in Public Places
The City of Kalamunda wishes to consult with the community to seek feedback on the level of community support in holding funerals in public places; parks, reserves and open spaces. At this stage we are undertaking preliminary community engagement in order to develop a draft policy for council consideration. We are seeking feedback on the broad level of support the public feels towards this undertaking.

Hartfield Park Recreation Centre: Gym Closure
Our Hartfield Park Recreation Centre sports court floors are being resurfaced. During this upgrade, the centre will be closed to the public from noon on Friday, 31 January to Saturday, 1 February 2020 inclusive.
